Virtual Laps

In CrewNerd, a "Just Row" (or "Just Go") workout gives you the freedom to do workouts that are as short or long as you like. The data fields on the row/paddle screen may show your current performance (e.g. speed/pace, stroke rate, heart rate, course) or cumulative data (e.g. elapsed time, distance).

Sometimes, though, it can be handy to see how your data is trending over the course of your workout. With "virtual laps", you can configure CrewNerd to give you summary data at regular distance intervals. On the "virtual laps" settings page, you can enable virtual laps with a distance of 500 meters, 1 kilometer, 1 mile, or 1 nautical mile.

At the completion of each virtual lap, CrewNerd will sound an alarm (if sounds are enabled) and freeze the following data fields and show you your totals (or averages) over the last virtual lap:

  • Distance
  • Elapsed time
  • Speed or pace
  • Stroke rate
  • Stroke count
  • Heart rate
  • Course

On the virtual laps settings screen, you can also configure the length of time that the data is frozen and highlighted (from 5 to 30 seconds). For some sports (like surf ski or coastal rowing), a longer delay may be desired since water conditions may not allow you to look at the display whenever you want.

NOTE: Virtual laps are only supported for "Just Row" or "Just Go" workouts.
