Display settings
The active workout screen in CrewNerd is designed to be very configurable. Too much data is overwhelming and difficult to read, and everyone has different ideas about what they want to see during a workout.
With CrewNerd, you can choose how much data you want, how it is arranged on the screen, and exactly which data fields are displayed.
Portrait or landscape mode?
CrewNerd can operate in both portrait and landscape mode. All of the settings we describe here are maintained separately for each orientation. This means that you can have one layout for portrait mode and a completely different layout for landscape mode, and CrewNerd will automatically switch between them when the phone orientation changes.
Display Settings
Press the display settings button (top row, second button from the right) to change:
- Number of rows
- You can have anywhere from one data row up to 3 rows in landscape mode, or 5 rows in portrait mode.
- Sunlight display mode
- By default, CrewNerd uses a "white on black" style. In some lighting conditions, the sunlight display mode (black on white) may be easier to read.
You can also lock the configuration of each row here. When you're finished making changes, press "Save" to use the new settings, or "Cancel" to discard any changes you've made.
Row Settings
To change the layout and contents of a row, press and hold anywhere in the row that you want to change. CrewNerd will display controls allowing you to change:
- Row height
- By default, each row gets an equal share of the available vertical space. Use the "height" switch if you want the height of the selected row to be doubled compared to the others.
- Number of columns
- Each row can display either one or two data fields. Use the "columns" switch to make your choice.
- Data fields
- Use the data field selector to choose what data you want to show in the row. If you selected a two-column layout for the row, then you can select the data to show in both the left and right columns.
When you are done making changes to the row, press the "Save" button to record your changes and return to the Row/Paddle screen. Press "Cancel" to discard any changes that you've made.
NOTE: if the "press and hold" gesture doesn't work, that's probably because you locked the row configurations in the display settings.
