Selecting and starting workouts

When you launch CrewNerd, it begins in a "Just Go" workout that is completely unstructured. You can start the timer and record your entire workout as one long interval. Or, you can use the "Reset" button to clear the time and distance and begin a new interval, perhaps to distinguish between your warmup, one or more work intervals, and cool-down.

But CrewNerd also supports more structured workouts, much like an indoor rowing machine or SpeedCoach device. CrewNerd provides several standard workouts by default, but you can easily create new ones. On the workouts screen, press any of the listed workouts to launch it. You can either begin the workout immediately, or if you want to start moving before the first interval begins, you can opt for a 15 or 30 second countdown.

Custom courses are another kind of workout (described in a separate article) where the timer starts and stops automatically when you cross the start and finish lines of the course. Custom courses are created by drawing boxes around the start and finish lines in Google Earth and then loading that data into CrewNerd. To start a custom course, press "custom courses" on the workouts page and then select one of the available courses.
