Viewing workout history

On the history screen, your past practices are listed with the most recent practices at the top. Tap any practice to open its summary page.

Practice summary

The practice summary page shows the date and time of the practice, the total distance, and a list of the workouts you performed.

There are text fields where you can add the following information about the practice:

  • Boat name
  • Practice notes
  • Athletes (for team boats)

Entering information about your practice is useful in two ways. If you enter text in the notes field, this will then be shown as a subtitle for the practice in the history page, making it easier to find the practice later. And all of the text fields are scanned when you search your history (as described below).

Practice map

To see the practice map, press the map button on the top navigation bar. The practice map shows your path during the practice, along with green and red markers at the start and end of each interval. Tap the markers to display a popup window showing the time, distance, and average stroke rate for the interval. (On the iPhone, you can tap the popup window to view the interval details)

Exporting workout data

From the practice summary page, you can also export the practice data in various ways. To export your workout data, press the "share" button on the top navigation bar.

When you export practice data, CrewNerd will first give you a list of online services and file formats to choose from. After you select an export type, CrewNerd will display a list of the workouts in your practice. By default, all workouts in the list have a check mark beside them. If you want to exclude any workouts from the export, just tap their check mark to clear it.

Press "Start export" (Android) or "Export" (iPhone) to begin the export. If you are exporting to one of the file types, CrewNerd will ask whether you want to save the file locally or send it by email.

Viewing workout details

The practice summary page also contains a list of the workouts you performed. To see the details for any workout, tap its entry in the list. On the workout detail page, you'll see a list of the intervals in the workout with the total time, distance, and strokes in the interval as well as the average pace and stroke rate, and heart rate. Maximum values for the stroke rate and heart rate are shown as well.

Interval detail charts

From the workout detail page, you can also view a chart showing up to two of the following metrics:

  • Speed
  • Pace
  • Stroke rate
  • Heart rate
  • Check
  • Bounce

The chart's X-axis is time, and you can choose which of the above metrics to include in the chart. To show the interval chart, press the chart button on the top navigation bar. On Android, the button icon is a magnifying glass. If there are multiple intervals in the workout, use the left and right arrows to move between the charts for different intervals.

iPhone: To change the chart configuration, press the "Configure" button in the upper right corner of the screen.

Android: To change the chart configuration, press the wrench icon on the top bar.

On the chart configuration screen, you can select which metrics to display. You can also apply a smoothing factor to the stroke rate and speed/pace data in the chart.

If you want to see split data for longer intervals, you can also add distance markers at intervals of 250, 500, 1000, or 2000 meters. When distance markers are enabled, you'll see red vertical bars in the chart marking those distances, along with the split time for each interval. This can be a great way to see how consistent you were through a long work interval (or race).

Deleting practice data

iPhone: To delete the data for a practice, press the edit button on the main history screen and tap the red icon, and then "Delete". Or, you can simply swipe left on any item in the list to delete the practice.

You can also delete individual workouts from a practice on the practice summary page in the same way.

Android: To delete the data for a practice, go to the summary page for the practice and press the trash can icon on the top bar.

Searching the history

On the history screen, you can pull down on the history list to display a search bar where you can enter text to search for practices that contain your search terms in the boat name, notes, or athlete list.
