Display settings (iPhone)

The Row/Paddle screen in CrewNerd is designed to be very configurable. Too much data is overwhelming and difficult to read, and everyone has different ideas about what they want to see during a workout.

With CrewNerd, you can choose how much data you want, how it is arranged on the screen, and exactly which data fields are displayed.

Go to the "display settings" sub-page on the settings screen to control row heights and enable the sunlight display mode.

Portrait or landscape mode?

CrewNerd can operate in both portrait and landscape mode (90% of users prefer portrait mode). All of the settings we describe here are maintained separately for each orientation. This means that you can have one layout for portrait mode and a completely different layout for landscape mode, and CrewNerd will silently switch between them when the phone orientation changes.

Single- or double-height rows?

On the iPhone, you can configure the height of the top two rows in portrait mode or the top row in landscape mode. When you configure a row to be double-height, it pushes one single height row off the bottom of the screen, and this is one way that you can reduce the amount of data on the screen and make the most important data larger and easier to read.

Sunlight display mode

By default, CrewNerd uses a "white on black" style for the Row/Paddle screen. This is usually good for morning workouts. In bright sunlight, however, this can be difficult to read. To improve visibility in those conditions, the "sunlight display model" can be used to switch to a "black on white" display.

One data cell or two?

On each row, you can choose to have either one data cell or two, and CrewNerd will make the text as large as possible in the available space. To change the data contents for a row, press the blue arrow on the right side of the row.

On the row configuration screen, use the left and right slider wheels to select the data for the row. If you choose "None" for the right side, then the data for the left side will fill the entire row.
